Our after school care program was developed in 1998 at the request of parents in our immediate neighborhood who needed a safe place for their children after school at a price they could afford. Since that time, we have expanded to serve 8-10 different schools, depending on needs and availabilities. We provide homework assistance and enrichment activities like cooking clubs, sports fundamentals, arts and crafts and weekly devotions. Every child also receives a free meal each day provided by the Capitol Area Food Bank – a major plus for busy families who leave our care to head to ball practice or other activities. Supplemental food is also supplied at no charge for weekends. In addition, we offer all day camps on many of the days that children are out of school during the school year. Our fees are lower than any others in the area, and we also work with Worksource and other organizations who provide child care subsidies. Limited scholarships are occasionally available – please contact Sharon Ryan for information about partial scholarships and/or applying for subsidized day care through one of these agencies.
